City of Ellsworth Ordinance to Annex Land

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING LAND TO THE CITY 
OF ELLSWORTH, KANSAS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ELLSWORTH, KANSAS:
WHEREAS, the following described land adjoins the City of Ellsworth, Kansas, and is generally located on the east edge of the City of Ellsworth.
WHEREAS, a written petition for and consent to annexation of the following described land, signed by all of the owners thereof, has been filed with the City of Ellsworth, Kansas pursuant to K.S.A. 12-520, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Ellsworth, Kansas finds it advisable to annex such land.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNIG BODY OF THE CITY OF ELLSWORTH, KANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described land is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Ellsworth, Kansas:
    The West Half of the Southeast Quarter (W ½ 
    SE ¼) of Section Twenty-One (21); Township 
    Fifteen (15) South, Range Eight (8) West of the 
    6th P.M., in Ellsworth County, Kansas, except the 
    following tracts:
Tract 1
A tract of land in the West Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 21, Township 15 South, Range 8 West, Ellsworth County, Kansas, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Quarter Section adjusting the corporate limits as following: thence west four hundred eighty (480.00') feet to a point on the East right-of-way line of Evans Street; thence Southeasterly along the property line, two hundred eighty (280.00') feet to the highway right-of-way line; thence East-Southeasterly along the highway right-of-way line, two hundred twenty-two (222.00') feet; thence South perpendicular to the Quarter (¼) Section Line thirty (30.00') feet to a point four hundred sixty one (461.00') feet east of the Northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter (SE ¼) Section Twenty-One (21); thence East along the North line of the Southeast Quarter (SE ¼) of Section Twenty One (21) to the Northeast corner of the West Half of the Southeast Quarter (W ½ SE ¼) of Section Twenty One (21). 
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the official city newspaper.
