Ronald “Ron” H. DeVolder (1942-2024)
Ronald “Ron” H. DeVolder, 81, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024. Ron was born June 16, 1942, to Victor A. and Rachel A. (Hemeryck) DeVolder in Detroit, Mich. He graduated from Edwin C. Denby High School in 1959. He married Jacquelyn P. (Laquerre) in 1964. Ron was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by Jacquelyn DeVolder; sons James DeVolder, Mark DeVolder, Eric DeVolder and Jeffrey DeVolder; brother Norman DeVolder; and 10 grandchildren.
He worked his entire career for the same company, moving up through the ranks, and retired from Cashco, Inc. in 2009.
Ron had a great sense of humor and laugh, always on the ready to crack a witty joke whenever he could. He coached his kids’ sports teams even though he wasn’t an experienced coach. He enjoyed having his kids and grandkids at the house. He loved to do woodworking and built many projects for gifts and around the house. He also loved to golf with his sons and friends. He loved to watch his DVD set of “Everyone Loves Raymond,” and he really lit up when he saw a bag of M&M’s.
There will be no services as cremation was chosen and his ashes will be placed privately at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
