Linda L. Janssen (1947-2025)

Linda L. Janssen, 78, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, in Ellsworth, Kan. She was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Garnett, Kan., to Paul and Helen (Howery) Singer. Linda grew up in Parker, Kan., then attended and graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in education. She was a school teacher for much of her life, teaching in Tonganoxie, Kan., for a year then in Geneseo, Kan., and Ellsworth for many years. She married Jeffrey Janssen in Parker on June 9, 1973. Linda was a member of the Ellsworth Methodist Church and the church’s Methodist Women’s group, the Ladies Thanksgiving Club in Geneseo and the Smoky Hill Cattlewomen.

Linda is survived by her husband Jeffrey of Geneseo; daughters Abby Wimer, Sara Bohl (Scott) and Trisha Janssen, all of Geneseo; grandchildren Halle, Maggie, Cagney and Audrey Bohl; and brother Charles Singer (Vickie), Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ronald Singer; and son-in-law Matthew Wimer.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present to greet visitors from 5-7 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at Ellsworth Methodist Church, with burial following at the Geneseo Cemetery.
