LaVerna Stroede (1922-2024)

LaVerna Stroede passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, in Belleville, Kan., at the age of 102. She was born to Frank Panzer and Rosalie (Bohl) Panzer on April 17, 1922, in Ellsworth, Kan. She married William Stroede on Jan. 18, 1945. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and share with her family, especially her grandchildren, who loved her sugar doughnuts and cookies. She put out a big garden and canned the vegetables, sharing them with her family. LaVerna was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kanopolis, Kan., and Ellsworth VFW Auxiliary.
LaVerna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven sisters, two brothers, a son-in-law and a grandson. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Richardson (late husband Gary Richardson), Belleville, Kan.; Linda Brenn (William), Deshler, Neb.; and Peggy Kempke (Danny), Kanopolis; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with burial following at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery. One hour of visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home.
