Jack Bishop Holloway (1941-2025)

Jack Bishop Holloway, 83, of Wilson, Kan., peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at his home. Born on Oct. 20, 1941, in Athens, Texas, to Bill and Opal Holloway, Jack was a hardworking and devoted family man.

He was the owner and operator of JB Holloway and Sons Trucking in Sublette, Kan., for many years. In 1999, he moved to Wilson and retired from trucking in 2009. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather who never missed a family gathering. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved anything John Wayne, enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor and was always willing to lend a hand in his local community.

On March 15, 1987, Jack married Sharon (Snyder) Holloway, who remained his devoted wife until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Opal Holloway; his infant daughter Jackie Holloway; his son Jeff Holloway; stepdaughter Crystal Finke; and grandson Derek Tatum.

Jack is survived by his wife Sharon Holloway, of the home; daughter Tami Tatum, Norman, Okla.; son Troy Holloway, Wichita, Kan.; daughter Julie Hefner, Goddard, Kan.; and stepson Cameron Finke, Hays, Kan. He was also the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and the loving great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren.

Cremation has already taken place. The service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 16, 2025, at Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Kan.
