Harland R. Rolfs (1950-2026)
Harland R. Rolfs, 75, passed away Jan. 7, 2026, in Bartlesville, Okla. He was the oldest of five children, born on Aug. 11, 1950, in Ellsworth, Kan., to Alvin (Pete) Rolfs and Johnetta G. (Kaiser) Rolfs. Raised in Geneseo, Kan., he graduated from Geneseo High School (the Green Dragons) in 1968, where he was voted sports king his senior year. He then graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1972 with a degree in business administration. He then went to Bartlesville, where he worked for Phillips Petroleum for 47 years, retiring in 2019. In 1977, he married Claudia Tallaferro, and to this union were born two sons, Eric of Park Ridge, Ill., and Kevin of Norman, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ray. He is survived by his wife Claudia of Bartlesville; sons Eric and Kevin; grandkids Parker Hill and Mina Lashway Rolfs; brother Dennis (Kathy) Rolfs, Lorraine, Kan.; sisters Jolene Amerine and Janet Bell, both of Hutchinson, Kan.; nephews Trevor, Brendon, Brett, Seth, Cy, Jason, Aaron and Ryan; and niece Mandy. He was loved by all and he truly loved them.
He was a member of East Cross Methodist Church for 47 years and worked tirelessly doing their accounting and taking care of their sound system.
