MILDRED’S STORY

Sixty three years ago on Oct. 6, 1953, my Grandmother and Uncle arrived from Germany, stepping off the train in Hutchinson, Kan., to a happy reunion after seven long years of separation from their beloved daughter and sister, Mildred Schindler Janzen. Her new husband, Leon Janzen, met his mother and brother-in-law for the first time. The riveting story of this family in Nazi Germany before this happy day will be a published in a memoir next month! Mildred is so excited to finally share her story!
