Examples of seals engraved with figures and symbols have been found from approximately 3,400 B.C. Mesopotamia. Seals are believed to have been in use before that, perhaps hundreds of years before the invention of writing.

HOISNGTON — For the first time in Bearcat history, the boys; basketball team took first place in the Hoisington Winter Jam tournament. Going 3-0 for the week, they started the tournament with a 64-13 win over Minneapolis. In the semi-final round versus Victoria, they took a 41-24 win, and dominated in the championship game over Pratt with a final score of 43-27.

CLAFLIN — At the December Central Plains USD 112 Board of Education meeting, the board voted to move forward with the redrawing of district member boundaries. These boundaries haven’t been updated since 2010. The 2020 census was utilized to ensure the boundaries were based on the most accurate information available.
