Effects of the drought continue to linger as temperatures soar this week. “(We won’t see drought relief ) in the immediate future, that’s for sure,” said Kevin Darmofal, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wichita during an Aug. 18 interview. “The next 10 days will see little, if any, rainfall through the month. (It) will be unusually hot. We’re probably going to break some records for the next several days.”
