A NIGHT DEDICATED TO CHARITY

The Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation conducted its annual fundraiser Saturday night at Ellsworth’s American Legion building. The organization, which has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to Ellsworth County projects and organizations, met its goal of $50,000, which will be matched 150 percent by the Logan-based Dane G. Hansen Foundation. Of that amount, $11,000 was raised prior to the event. About 100 guests attended, including, above, from left — Christi and Tim Herber and Rick and Deanna Soukup. Christi manages the Cans for Kid Fighting Cancer Foundation at Hoisington and Tim works for H&B Communications. The Soukups own Refine Design in downtown Ellsworth.
