Read moreSgt. Alan E. Reeves, right, retired in March after 33 years of dedicated service to the Kansas Department of Corrections and Ellsworth Correctional Facility. Alan began his career at ECF Sept. 12, 1988 as a Corrections Officer I, and promoted to Corrections Officer II Sept. 18, 1989. Throughout Alan’s career he achieved various levels of excellence: he was honored by his peers as Outstanding Uniformed Employee of the First Quarter for FY2012, received a letter of commendation for dedication and professionalism he exhibited during an emergency situation, and has been acknowledged for outstanding work performance throughout his career. A ceremony in his honor was conducted in March at ECF. Alan was one of the original employees of ECF, and he has been instrumental in shaping the processes and procedures that have contributed into making ECF the quality facility it is today. He is shown with his wife, Becky.
