A darting hummingbird made of steel

Editor's Note — This Saturday, the family and friends of Jeannie Eblen will gather at the University of Kansas to celebrate her life. The Eblens were in Ellsworth often, especially in the early days of the Independent, which produced its first issue in 1999. Tom made suggestions about the paper while Jeannie visited the museum and other places. They were great friends, of the I-R and of Ellsworth County.
