Allen Joe Jirik (1937-2026)

Allen Joe Jirik, 89, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Hoisington, Kan. He was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Ellsworth, Kan., to Joe and Mary (Votruba) Jirik. Allen served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Holyrood American Legion Post 200 and the Russell VFW Post 6240. Allen married Frances Wagner in Ellsworth on April 22, 1961. He was a school teacher and principal, primarily in Hoisington, before starting his own HVAC and plumbing business, A&F Enterprises.

Allen is survived by his wife Frances Jirik of Hoisington and close family friends Mike Riedl and Mike Harmon and families, all of Hoisington. He was preceded in death by his parents.

  A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
