PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Wilson, Kansas will hold a public hearing on October 19th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in Wilson City Hall, 2407 Avenue E, Wilson, KS, 67490 to present and discuss the proposed improvements for the wastewater lagoon facility project. The improvements will be funded under the low interest State Revolving Loan Fund Program through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The Loan application will include funding for the following improvements to convert the existing facility to a non-discharging wastewater treatment system:
Wastewater Lagoon Facility Improvements consisting of:  Excavation, earthwork compaction, storage cell influent improvements, and woven wire fencing.  Additional project work includes mobilization, construction staking, erosion control, grass seeding, and engineering; design, bidding, and inspection. The scope of work also includes alternates for gravity piping, intermediate pumping station, site electrical, installation of force main piping, relocation of existing force main piping, addition of effluent/irrigation structure, relocation of oil well access road, slope erosion protection, and acquisition of land.
The anticipated amount of the loan application request will be $650,000 and the total project cost is estimated at $650,000. The anticipated increase in sewer use charges will be discussed. The proposed improvements will be explained and comments by the public will be considered. Oral and written comments will be accepted. Any written comments will become a part of the City’s record of public hearing.
