Wade Ray Dyer (1978-2023)

Wade Ray Dyer, 45, of Dorrance, Kan., died Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Dorrance, Kan., due to an unfortunate auto accident.

Wade was born April 26, 1978, in Hays, Kan., the son of Denny Ray and Jan Marie (Ehrlich) Dyer. He moved to Dorrance, Kan., at age 5 and made it his home for the duration of his life. He graduated from Wilson High School with the class of 1996. After high school, he completed the John Deere training program at Garden City Community College where he also received his associates degree. He worked as a diesel and agricultural equipment mechanic in Ellsworth since graduating. He enjoyed restoring vehicles, including his 1951 Chevy pickup and his IROC Camaro. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and hanging out with his longtime friends at the Dorrance American Legion.

He is survived by his parents Denny and Jan Dyer of Dorrance, Kan.; three sons, Fallon R. Dyer, Cameron M. Dyer and Owen L. Dyer, all of Lincoln, Kan.; and sister Jessie Rose and husband Cody of Dorrance, Kan. Wade is also survived by two nieces, a nephew and two great-nephews.

Cremation has been selected by the family. The family will have a memorial gathering to celebrate Wade’s life at a later date. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kan., is in charge of the arrangements.
