Maralyn Jean Eyler Williams (1933-2026)

Maralyn Jean Eyler Williams of Salina, Kan., passed away on Jan. 23, 2026. Maralyn was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Salina. Maralyn’s parents were Dr. George Kurtz Eyler and Evelyn Marie (Schmitt) Eyler. 
Maralyn graduated from Salina High School and Kansas University. She obtained her master’s degree from Kansas State University. 

Maralyn taught first grade for 25 years. She was a member of Pi Lambda Theta, Alpha Delta Kappa (teacher’s sorority), Pi Beta Phi and Chapter ED of P.E.O. She was a proud member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, deacon and sang in the chancel choir.

Maralyn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Georgann Dreher, daughter Dana Leigh Powell and granddaughter Erika Jones. Survivors include daughters Laura Murphy (Em), Lynne Rose (Scott) and son Dr. Kurt Williams (Shaun); 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Feb. 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the music department of the First Presbyterian Church of Salina or the Salina Animal Shelter in care of Heier Scott Mortuary and Cremations, 1920 E. Crawford St., Salina, KS 67401.
