Mable Ruth Bettenbrock (1925-2023)

Mable Ruth Bettenbrock, 97, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, in Lincoln. She was born Sept. 5, 1925, on the family farm near Falun, Kan., in Saline County to Harry and Ruth (Hopp) Gile. She married Jack Delbert Bettenbrock in Salina on Oct. 31, 1964, and was a resident of Brookville for over 50 years.

Mable was a dedicated farm wife. She also worked for many years at the Brookville Hotel and on the Saline County Election Board. She was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church and the church’s United Methodist Women group.

Mable is survived by her daughter Debbie Breneman (Monty) of Lincoln; grandsons Tyler Breneman of Lindsborg and Kyle Breneman of Lincoln; granddaughter Mikayla Ruth Breneman of Lincoln; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; sister Marlene Chance; brothers Harrison, Verlyn, Edward and Eugene Gile; and nephews Alan Chance and Mike Bettenbrock.

Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Parsons Funeral Home with burial following in the Ellsworth Cemetery.
