Evelyn Lena Pflughoeft (1924-2020)

Evelyn Lena Pflughoeft, 95, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 in Ellsworth. She was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Ellsworth County to Gustave and Dorothy (Peterman) Schneider. 

Evelyn was a long time resident of Ellsworth where she married Lester Pflughoeft on March 10, 1946. She was a homemaker and dispatcher and director for the Ellsworth ambulance services for many years. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, north of Ellsworth where she participated in LWML, church choir, and many other facets of the church.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Connie Rodriguez (the late Dan Rodriguez) of Ellsworth; daughter, Kathy May (Jeff) of Ellsworth; son, Rickie Pflughoeft (Lois) of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Angie Ptacek (Mike), Chelsee Acres (Josh), Mason May, Dusty Howell, Nikki Howell, and Katie McWilliams (Jason); 16 great- grandchildren; sister, Erna Haase (Lloyd) of Ellsworth; brother-in-law, Dwaine Pruitt of Ellsworth; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; sisters, Betty Pruitt and Edith Compton; and grandson-in-law, Donnie Moore. 

Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral Service is at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with burial following in the church cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and St. Paul Lutheran Church, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, PO Box 45, Ellsworth, Kan. 67439.
