Betty Anne Beach (Wagner) (1927-2024)

Betty Anne Beach (Wagner), 97, passed away peacefully at home in Salina, Kan., on Nov. 5, 2024. She was born June 19, 1927, in Ellsworth, Kan.

Betty grew up on a farm in the Ellsworth/Brookville, Kan., area, where she met her husband, Charles H. Beach. They wed on April 7, 1946, and raised four children, Connie, Charles, Cheryl and Cindy. She was a long-standing member of Fidelity Rebekah Lodge, Brookville United Methodist Church and Brookville Senior Citizens.

She did many things in her lifetime, from teaching in a one-room schoolhouse to working on a military project at Cal Tech University to owning a moving and storage company. But her most rewarding experience was being with her children and grandchildren. Charles and Betty traveled and lived all over the United States. She was always up for anything, and could make friends with anyone she met. Her joy lit up any room she entered.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Beach; son Charles V. Beach; parents George and Clara (Warta) Wagner; brothers Joe Ray Wagner and George Wagner; sister Mary (Wagner) Lolley; son-in-law Harold Kincaid; and great-granddaughter Katie Breanna Laumann.

She is survived by her daughters Connie (Loel) Laumann, Cheryl Kincaid, and Cindy (Earon) Lawson; grandchildren Darrel, Dan, Tony, Matt, Laura, Felicia, James and Joey; great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Jackson, Charlie, Jocelynn, Avery, George, Molly, Brynna, Oliver, Harry, Jack, Betty, Hudson, Saylor and Frank; and many other family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.  

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Brookville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Brookville City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
