Anne K. Ehrlich (1936-2026)

Anne K. Ehrlich, formally of Wilson, Kan., passed away on Jan. 3, 2026, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Center in Wichita, Kan., at the age of 89.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1936, to Emil W. and Rose M. (Mattas) Podlena in Ellsworth, Kan. She was married on Oct. 25, 1975, to Darrell D. Ehrlich at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2018.

She grew up in Wilson and graduated from Wilson High School in 1954. She was a homemaker and devoted mother. Anne was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hutchinson, Kan., and was active in Daughters of Isabella.

Anne was a woman who lived to help others. She had a naturally caring heart and was always thinking of how she could support, comfort or uplift those around her. Helping people brought her true joy. 

Anne is survived by her children Chris (Darrel) Rizley, Wichita, Kan.; Richard Ehrlich, Hutchinson, Kan.; David (Connie) Ehrlich, Lawrence, Kan.; Laura (Kurt) Holland, Wichita; and Jane (Roy) Soukup, Hays, Kan.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings Sr. Loretta Podlena, Great Bend, Kan., and Emily Zorn, Hoisington, Kan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Helen Soukup and Mary Barta; and brother Bill Podlena.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, from 6-7 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Wilson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Wilson. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, Wilson. Memorials are suggested to St. Wenceslaus Cemetery Fund and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, P.O. Box 533, Wilson, KS 67490.
